Iranian short ‘Unveiling Ceremony’ is to vie at the VideoBabel Festival in Peru.

Iranian short ‘Unveiling Ceremony’ has been scheduled to vie at the VideoBabel Festival in Peru.

Directed by Mehdi Boustani, the animated piece was accepted to compete at the eighth edition of the festival.

‘Unveiling Ceremony’ is about justice and set in no particular country while showing the world going into disarray. It tells the story of the unveiling ceremony of a symbol, but problems unfold as the story goes on.

The film has so far been screened at the film festivals Detmold in Germany, the Grenoble in France, the Movie ScreenPro and the New Animation both in the US, the Iranian film in France, the CyBorg and the Cartoon Club Rimini both in Italy. It previously won a special mention at the 2017 New Animation International Film Festival in the US.

Founded in 2009, the VideoBabel Festival is a project with an international reach. More than 2200 audiovisual works from various countries have participated at the previous seven annual events so far.

The eighth edition of the festival is scheduled to be held from November 27 to December 1, 2017, in Peru.
